Academic Dual Credit
Both Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan offer concurrent enrolment programs for highly motivated secondary students interested in getting a jump start on their post-secondary education. What you may not know is, that the tuition for students interested in such courses, may be covered by Central Okanagan Public schools. Students will still be required to purchase books and supplies as well as cover any post-secondary student fees. In addition to saving the tuition cost, these courses could count towards both a student's graduation credits as well as first year credits for many college/university diploma or degree programs. The application process is complex and requires advanced planning and a detailed transition plan. Planning for academic dual-credit opportunities should happen at least one year in advance, while students are in grade 11, to ensure all course prerequisites are met.
Interested students should connect with the career coordinator/career counsellor at their school for more information and to apply.
