Welcome to Dual Credit Programs

Central Okanagan Public Schools have partnered with post-secondary institutions such as BCIT, Okanagan College, the Justice Institute of BC, and UBC Okanagan to provide opportunities for high school students to start a post-secondary program while completing their high school graduation.

Additional dual credit programs are also delivered at some of the high school locations by qualified instructors.

Dual Credit
Programs

Dual credit programs are an opportunity for high school students to start a post-secondary program while still in high school.

These programs initially began with Trades specific programs but has now grown to include options in Trades & Technology, Health & Human Services, and Academic Transfer.

In addition to getting an early start on your post-secondary education, the Central Okanagan Public School district will cover the cost of your program tuition.*

 Apprenticeship

Youth Work In Trades is a high school Dual Credit Program that provides students 15 – 18 year olds with the opportunity to begin an apprenticeship while still in high school.

Students must be employed (paid) in an apprentice able trade and can work during the summer, evenings, weekends, vacations or even during the school year.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get a head start on a trade while completing secondary school graduation. Students can also earn 16 high school credits and qualify for a $1000 financial award from the Ministry of Education!
